Waterford got their All-Ireland aspirations back on track with a commanding display to put Wexford to the sword by ten points in a forgettable game at Thurles today.
Any notion that Waterford would suffer a Munster final hangover was blown out of the water in the first five minutes with Maurice Shanahan, Pauric Mahony and Michael "Brick" Walsh all on target.
Lee Chin opened Wexford's account with a superb individual score but the Déise were playing with serious intensity in the early stages as Brick, Mahony (free) and Austin Gleeson, who shot six first-half wides, stretched the gap to five, 0-6 to 0-1.
Darragh Fives left the play injured after 12 minutes and a wasteful Waterford struggled to make their dominance count on the scoreboard as a Conor McDonald free and an excellent effort from David Dunne kept them within a score.
Mahony, who was off target from a number of placed balls, Shane Bennett (2) and the brilliant Jamie Barron hit further scores as Waterford went into the break seven up, 0-12 to 0-5 with Chin the only threat in a limp Wexford attack.
McDonald flashed a goal chance wide on the resumption but Waterford started where they left off with points from Mahony, Gleeson and Shanahan looking like putting the game to bed for Derek McGrath's side.
Wexford struggled to make headway up front but buoyed by a big travelling support, they never gave in and reeled off the next three points via defender Liam Ryan and two from McDonald (one free), 0-15 to 0-8.
Wexford's dander was up and Eanna Martin sent over an inspiration point before surging forward to win a free pointed by McDonald. With conditions changing midway through the half and a nice wind behind them the Model men were throwing everything at Waterford.
Substitute Brian O'Halloran eased their Waterford's worries with a brace as they hit six without reply to quell the Model challenge and ease to victory and a semi-final meeting with Kilkenny, a repeat of last year's final four clash.
