Ugly scenes marred a club game between Waterford rivals Dungarvan and Mount Sion last night at Fraher Field.

The incident occurred towards the end of the opening period and lasted for approximately eight minutes.

When the dust settled, Waterford star Austin Gleeson of Mount Sion and Dungarvan's Colm Curran were given their marching orders.

Dungarvan manager James O’Connor described the the incident to the Irish Examiner  afterwards as “just something that got out of hand”.

A third player was sent off in the ill-tempered game in the second half as Dungarvan won by 1-22 to 2-16.
