Two late goals ensured that Tipperary will face Cork in the semi-final of the Munster Minor Hurling Championship.
The young men from the Premier County were superior to the hosts throughout yet, Clare never gave up and trailed by just three points by the 58th minute.
Then up stepped full-forward Cian Darcy and he fired passed Cillian Nugent in the Clare goal, something he failed to do moments earlier in a similar situation when Nugent produced a fine save. And then in injury-time, substitute Dylan Walsh hit a second goal to settle matters.
Tipp began with three quick-fire points but Clare replied in kind to leave it level after 11 minutes but that was a close as it got.
The visitors held a 0-12 to 0-5 advantage at the break and deserved to be that far ahead.
Wing-forward Ger Browne increased the lead after half-time to eight and, but for a spirited comeback by Clare, the Premier County looked as if they would run riot.
The Banner men kept their effort going and when substitute Conor Lynch hit a fine point he put just three between them. But as the old cliché goes, goals win games and Tipperary produced two from their arsenal to claim the victory.
