Super sub Lawlor lifts Roscommon

Goals from substitute Jamie Lawlor and Cillian Egan gave Roscommon a convincing win against last year's finalists Derry at Athleague.

Roscommon's greater spread of scorers and Jerry Fallon's accuracy from frees gave them a 0-11 to 0-8 interval lead.

Scores from Tom Fetherston and Tomás Seale stretched the advantage to five points by the 41st minute. Convery kept Derry in touch but Alan Moore got Roscommon back on track again with a fine score.

Alan Grant and Mark McGuigan swapped scores with Eamon Flanagan and Naos Connaugton.

But Roscommon put the game to bed with two quick goals from Lawlor and Egan.after their top scorer Fallon was sent off with a second bookable offence.

Roscommon will face Antrim next weekend.
