Cork coped better with the blustery conditions at Walsh Park to move clear of Waterford and into the last four.

Denis Ring's charges trailed by one at half-time after playing into the strong wind, and kicked on with five quickfire points after the re-start to seal their semi-final berth while Waterford must settle for a play-off against Tipperary.

The wind-assisted Déise went 1-2 to 0-0 clear with only five minutes played. Just 19 seconds in, Eoin McGrath cut loose and smashed an unstoppable shot to the net.

The visitors soon settled with wing-back Eoghan Clifford employed as a spare defender. Matthew Bradley started off a purple patch of eight points in a row as Josh Beausang and Evan Sheehan also found their range.

Goalkeeper Billy Nolan posted Waterford's first point in 18 minutes from a long-range free and they edged 1-6 to 0-8 ahead at the break. However, the Rebels put their stamp on the contest during the third quarter and Waterford couldn't muster a response.
