After making a great comeback, which saw them reel in Roscommon having trailed by 10 points, a frantic final few minutes saw the Rossies' Ronan O'Meara get the winning score to ensure promotion for the Connacht side. It ends Donegal's two-year stint in Division 2B.

Donegal trailed 1-6 to 0-5 at the break, but in the second half they were much more productive.

Long balls to Paddy Hannigan yielded goals in the 44th and 52nd minutes, with Danny Cullen also finding the net.

Roscommon's Adrian Murphy bagged goals in the 39th and 40th minutes to add to his first-half strike for a hat-trick, which gave the Rossies a 3-6 to 0-5 lead with 25 minutes to play.

Donegal were level by the 63rd minute, Ciarán Mathewson firing past Noel Fallon. O'Meara slotted over the winner in added time.
