Murphy the main man for perfect Louth
Louth 3-14 Warwickshire 2-10
Louth made it two wins from two in this competition with a gritty away win in Warwickshire, the Wee County making it five wins in their last six games.
Louth drew first blood after 15 minutes with a well-taken Seaghan Conneely goal, and Diarmuid Murphy sent over four frees in the opening half as Warwickshire's indiscipline saw them go seven points behind.
Padraig Crehan reduced that lead to five with two long-range frees and things got even better for the home side just before half-time, when Ogie Long found the back of the net to leave the half-time scoreboard reading 1-8 to 1-6 to Louth.
Louth had to wait until the 55th minute for their second goal and it was worth the wait, with Murphy scoring a fine effort after great work from Paddy Lynch on the right.
A scrambled goal from Warwickshire sharpshooter Shane Morrissey left four points between the sides with seven minutes remaining, but the visitors dug deep and ensured there would be no comeback with a late Andrew Mackin goal.
