Mullen the man for St Kieran's
St Kieran's 1-18 St Peter's 1-7
St Kieran's of Kilkenny saw off St Peter's of Wexford to send a clear message that they will not be easily separated from their provincial and All-Ireland titles.
The teams traded points for the opening 19 minutes and were tied at 0-5 each when Barry O'Connor found the net for St Peter's, but the Wexford team were then punished by the accuracy of Kieran's captain Adrian Mullen, the left corner-forward converted a 65 - his third of the half - and two frees, to leave the game tied 1-6 to 0-9 at half-time.
Kieran's, backed by the elements, won the game in the third quarter when, led by Mullen, they scored seven unanswered times.
Kieran's closed out the game with an injury-time goal from substitute Ciarán Brennan, set up by his free-scoring captain, as earned a final spot either Kilkenny CBS or Good Counsel, New Ross.
Their semi-final was abandoned in the second half with Kilkenny CBS leading 2-5 to 0-3, following an injury to a Good Counsel player which required an ambulance to be called.
