Bray had a more clinical forward line, a quality half-back line, a more assured touch and skill level and they dominated puckouts - they were full value for their 0-10 to 0-6 half-time lead.

Mikey Lee and Moorehouse controlled the second half, and the death knell for Carnew came from a poorly-hit free that was flicked to the back of Bob Fitzgerald's net by Lee to effectively end the game. The hard-working Timmy Collins did fire past Eoin Mason to give some slight hope to the Carnew supporters, but there was no time for a comeback.
