Minor hero McGrath leads from front for Templemore
Our Lady's t'more 0-24 Kilkenny CBS 2-15
Brian McGrath's nine points proved crucial as Our Lady's Templemore emerged triumphant at Moore Park in Portlaoise to set up final clash with four-in-a-row hopefuls St Kieran's on March 25.
McGrath, who captained Tipperary to All-Ireland minor glory last year, produced some big scores in the second half, while Andrew Ormonde collected five from play before the break.
Our Lady's now have the chance to emulate the school's 1978 exploits, when they followed up Harty Cup glory by claiming the All-Ireland Post Primary schools senior A hurling title.
But Our Lady's were given a stern examination of their credentials by Leinster runners-up Kilkenny CBS, who bagged goals in stoppage-time at the end of both halves.
Our Lady's led by seven points approaching the break but Joe Sheehan netted for CBS in the third minute of injury-time to cut the gap back to three at the break, 1-8 to 0-14.
Our Lady's still managed to keep Kilkenny CBS at arm's length in the second half and were five points clear before goalkeeper Ben Maher, who made some fine saves, lashed home a 20-metre free.
That late strike ensured a nervy finish but Our Lady's held out to set up a dream final.
