Donal Meegan's injury-time point snatched victory for a resilient Monaghan in an exhilarating finish in Castleblayney.

Monaghan surged into a 1-4 to 0-1 lead, with Brian McGuigan getting the goal, but by half-time Donegal 1-7 to 1-6 in front, their goal rifled home by Danny Cullen.

Monaghan's Tadgh Campbell was dismissed on a second yellow card and Donegal grabbed the initiative to hit an unanswered 2-2, with goals by David Flynn and Richie Kee, to open up a four-point lead.

Donegal lost Joe Boyle to a second yellow card, and Meegan chipped away at the deficit before grabbing victory.
