The Meath hurlers have agreed to replay the Christy Ring Cup final, but not this Saturday evening in Pairc Esler as the GAA's official fixture list suggests.

In the interest of player welfare they want the replayed fixture to be refixed for Saturday June 18 and this weekend's full round of Meath SHC games have been postponed as a result.

The Antrim hurlers are also due to play an Ulster SHC semi-final on June 18, however, so whether the Meath proposal will be accepted remains to be seen.

A handwritten statement from the Meath County Board, who consulted with the senior hurling team management, appeared on Twitter before later being deleted.
