McGarry strike ends Leitrim's winning run

Fermangh 2-14 Leitrim 1-14

Undefeated Fermanagh denied brave challengers Leitrim a third straight win in the Lory Meagher Cup at Brewster Park on Saturday.

Leitrim shaded the proceedings in the first half and led by 0-9 to 1-5 at the break after Padraig O'Donnell got all their scores. A Ciarán Corrigan goal before the interval brought Fermanagh back into contention.

Following two free conversions by sub Kevin Ward, Leitrim went ahead in the 54th minute by 1-12 to 1-10. But then Fermanagh upped their game and two minutes later, Kevin McGarry blasted to the Leitrim net from 21 metres to put his side in control for the remainder of the action.
