Lyons points the way as Rossies advance to the semis
Roscommon 4-8 Meath 3-9
Roscommon staged a remarkable recovery to come from ten points down and edge out Meath at Athleague.
The visitors led by 3-8 to 1-4 after 36 minutes but three goals between the 37th and 43rd minutes put Roscommon on the road to recovery.
Meath full-forward Ross Ryan had appeared to throw the sliotar into the net for the first of his side's goals, but Roscommon, playing against the wind, responded with a goal from John Murray.
Two goals before half-time from corner forward Mark Slevin gave Meath a 3-5 to 1-3 lead at the break.
A 36th minute Conor Kearney free stretched, the lead to 10, but rapid-fire goals from Daniel Glynn (a free), Brian Lawlor and Gearóid Keenan turned the game on its head.
The momentum was now with Stephen Glennon's charges and substitute Aengus Lyons scored two late points to seal victory.
There was late drama when Keenan blocked Eanna O'Kelly-Lynch's free on the line and Roscommon survived to reach the semi-finals.
