A Kilkenny CBS scoring burst late in the first half gave a springboard for victory as CBS qualified for a Leinster Senior Schools 'A' hurling final.

A resolute Mountrath CS were in contention, trailing 0-5 to 0-3 when, in the 22nd minute a centre from CBS's Niall Brassil was touched into the net by Jay Leahy.

Kilkenny free-taker Seán Bolger tacked on a point before a fine move ended with midfielder Conor Doheny crashing a ground stroke to the net as CBS led by 2-8 to 0-5 at the interval.
