Kerry giants must go again after thriller

It was fitting that the battle of the heavyweights of Kerry hurling should produce a thrilling finish, with the teams ending on level terms, and they must do it all again on Saturday week.

Ballyduff looked the better side early on only for Kilmoyley to settle and go in front thanks to a fortuitous goal from James Godley in the 18th minute to give them a 1-5 to 1-3 lead.

Thy were level, 1-7 each, at the break, but Kilmoyley resumed as the more focused side and had a three-point advantage as the clock ran down.

Ballyduff needed a goal and it came in the 59th minute when veteran Liam Boyle levelled it.

Sean Maunsell gave Kilmoyley the lead with just 30 seconds remaining, but there was still time for Padraig Boyle to convert a free and earn his side a second bite of the cherry.
