Keoghan strike fires St Kieran's
St Kieran's 3-11 Dublin North 2-7
Building on a start which saw them shoot four points from play in as many minutes, reigning All-Ireland champions St Kieran's of Kilkenny went on to record a seven-point win over Dublin North in a trap-to-line victory in this Leinster semi-final at the Training Centre, Fenagh, Carlow on Saturday.
Those early white flags from Joe Cuddihy and Martin Keoghan left Dublin North chasing the game from the off. The young Dubs responded well but depended exclusively on pointed frees from centre-forward Johnny McGurk, who hit their opening-half tally of 0-5 as they trailed 0-7 to 0-5 at the break. A pointed free from Adrian Mullen extended St Kieran's lead before the champions struck for the game's first goal, from Keoghan, in the 37th minute and never looked back from then on.
