Tipperary hurling star Lar Corbett made a surprise visit to an avid fan who is recovering from a serious car accident.

Corbett spent close to an hour with Shane Vickers (27), from Wicklow, who is in Dun Laoghaire Rehab Hospital.

He suffered a serious brain injury when he was hit by a car while walking home in Bray last October. "When I heard about Shane's accident, it really captured my emotions - his father (Shay) was so sincere on the phone. I told him that once I got a Tipp jersey signed by all of the team, I'd bring it up myself," said Corbett.
