Peter Farrell stole the show with an impressive 1-12 haul as Meath finished top of the pile at Ratoath yesterday.

Both sides had already assured themselves of a place in the decider and this game gave the respective managers an opportunity to test the strength of their panels ahead of the final.

Meath were dominant from the start and at the interval were already well on the way to victory when they led 3-12 to 1-8.

The hosts' goals came courtesy of Luke Martyn, Gary Kelly and Peter Farrell. It was a very productive afternoon for Farrell, with all but one of his points coming from frees.

Gavin McGowan also made a noticeable contribution with four fine points from play. Enda Donohoe was Wicklow's chief marksman with seven points, all from frees, while Diarmuid Masterson contributed four excellent scores. Their goal came from Padraig Doyle.
