Henry Shefflin: Kilkenny ready to hit the ground running against Wexford

All-Ireland champions Kilkenny get the defence of their crown underway against Wexford minus a number of last year's champions. For Henry Shefflin it will be a most surreal occasion.

Brian Cody's side will take on Wexford as they get their championship up and running and with a number of personnel changes, all eyes will be on the Cats and how they deal with the loss of so many leaders.

For the most decorated player in the GAA, it will be a first real taste of retirement. An integral part of the Kilkenny panel since 1999, the Ballyhale Shamrocks man will be watching on like the rest the supporters when they welcome the Yellowbellies to Nowlan Park on Sunday.
