Warwickshire came from behind to defeat Lancashire with a hard-earned win at Birmingham's Pairc na hEireann on Saturday.

Goals from Wexford native Greg Jacob and David Coughlan helped Lancashire to a 2-8 to 0-9 interval lead, but their side could only manage six second-half points.

The Division 3B league champions worked hard, as Sean Hennessy and captain Emmet McCabe fired 0-5 apiece, with Pauric Crehan, Conor Robbins and David Millea (1-1 each) also influential.

A hat-trick of goals proved to be the killer, with Crehan, Robbins and Millea all finding the back of the net on the way to a two-point win.

Lancashire could take a positive away from the encounter as the Cup debutants gave their more experienced fellow Exiles a scare, having put it up to Fermanagh and Leitrim before slumping to a heavy defeat, playing with 14 men, against Sligo.
