Hat-trick from Thomas Fetherston sinks the Kingdom

A FINE display by Roscommon saw them qualify for the final at Cusack Park, Ennis on Saturday.

The Connacht side showed the greater character to win the game with a fine series of goals from hat-trick hero Thomas Fetherston.

Roscommon started the brighter and led by 2-2 to 0-1 after 13 minutes, Fetherston scoring both goals. A fine pass to pick out Paudie O'Connor ended with a Donie MacKessy goal for Kerry on 30 minutes to leave it 2-5 to 1-6 in favour of Roscommon at the break.

A Kieran Fitzgerald goal drew the sides level, but Roscommon finished stronger with goals from Robbie Fallon and man-of-the-match Fetherston.
