After a slow start, Fermanagh kicked into life and finally got their foot on the accelerator by the 25th minute when Conor Goodwin took advantage of a spill from Donegal goalkeeper Dylan Laverty to put Fermanagh 1-1 to 0-3 in front.

Donegal led 0-5 to 1-1 at half-time and Sam Doherty's goal five minutes into the second half put them in total control.

And the Tír Chonaill men were cruising when two goals in a minute, on 44 and 45, put them 3-7 to 1-1 in front. Paul Nelson rounded Colum McPhillips to fire into the empty net for the first before Doherty added the second from the penalty spot after being fouled in front of goal by opposite number Dermot Russell.

Fermanagh's Matthew McGrade was given a straight red in the closing stages. He was joined in the showers before the final whistle by teammate Ciaran Corrigan and Donegal's Conor Griffin. Donegal will now get a chance in the All-Ireland 'B' competition where they will take on Kerry on August 6.
