Michael O'Callaghan's 38th minute goal propelled Calry-St Joseph's to a sixth successive Sligo Senior Hurling Championship at a wet Markievicz Park.
The defending champions were so dominant in the second-half that they were able to cope with a player less following Kevin Gilmartin's 49th minute red card, as the forward picked up a second booking.
Coolera-Strandhill made a game of it in the scrappy first-half. They opened the scoring through Kevin Banks and a classy 19th minute point from Niall Murphy brought them to within a point, 1-2 to 0-4.
But Calry-St Joseph's, who goaled after five minutes through Michael Gilmartin's stylish finish, were still four points up at half-time, 1-5 to 0-4.
Michael O'Callaghan's goal eight minutes after the restart sparked a dominant second-half display from the holders. They kept Coolera-Strandhill scoreless and clipped over a series of fine points to run out 20 point winners.
