More often than not, Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald's post and pre-match interviews get the tongues wagging. Last weekend was no different.

'I am 100pc certain we did not deserve to lose that game'

Clare's miserable form from 2014 and this year's National league continued as the Banner were defeated by a single point by Limerick at Semple Stadium.

He said he didn't want to discuss a number of controversial talking points from the game and also felt the red card dished out to captain pat Donnellan was not merited.

'Ger, you'll just have to wait and see like everyone else'

For the 2013 All-Ireland Final replay, Fitzgerald sprung a surprise by naming Shane O'Donnell in place of Darach Honan. When RTE's Ger Canning pressed the Clare manager on his tactical approach, he was politely told to wait and see like everyone else.

'John Allen can say what he wants'

Limerick stood in the way of Clare and an All-Ireland Final in 2013 and when Ger Canning suggested that his counterpart John Allen had spoken about the referees in the build-up, the former Banner goalkeeper wouldn't be drawn into the matter.

'A lot's been said about us'

After Waterford's Munster Final humbling in 2011, Fitzgerald led the Deise to victory over Galway in the qualifiers, adding that his record as manager probably hadn't received the credit it deserved.

''I've Got Two All-Irelands And You've Got F**k All''

When Fitzgerald led his native Clare against his old side Waterford, tensions were bound to be high.

Side line cameras picked up on a verbal exchange between the fiery manager and Waterford's Eoin Kelly, which was later discussed on The Sunday Game.
