There were joyous scenes in Dunleer as St Fechin's won their first title on their debut final appearance.
Surprisingly, their maiden success was a lot more comfortable than the scoreline suggests, as hot favourites Pearse Og struggled without their honeymooning talisman Shane Callan.
The 2012 and 2013 champs did summon a late rally, plundering 3-1 in a frantic five-minute spell, but the champions-elect had so much to spare it made no difference.
The first-time finalists showed no trace of nerves as they raced into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead, with county man Paddy Lynch in red-hot form.
Underdogs need a bit of luck and they cemented that solid start with a soft enough goal on 17 minutes, as Seaghan Conneely's weak shot deceived Barry Myles.
Pearse Og rallied briefly but another slice of fortune put Fechin's firmly in the box seat. It was Conneely again who got the rub of the green when his point effort came back off the crossbar, landing favourably for Paddy McCormack to fire home. That helped to open an 11-point gap at half-time, 2-10 to 0-5.
The second half was equally one-sided as Fechin's stretched their lead out to 15 points at one stage, insulating them from a spirited, but futile, Pearse Og fightback.
