Clare, fielding six of their 2013 All-Ireland-winning line-up, ran rampant, surging into a 1-16 to 0-3 interval lead.

It took Kerry until the 21st minute to register their first point, by which time the Banner had amassed 1-10.

The goal came when wing-forward Duggan flicked past Kerry keeper Aidan McCabe from a pinpoint David Reidy delivery.

All six Clare forwards and both midfielders got on the score-sheet in the first half.

Kerry improved in the third quarter, outscoring Clare by five points to one in that period, but the hosts retook command with some impressive scores by the likes of Daire Keane, Cathal O'Connell and Mikey O'Malley before Duggan added a late second goal.
