Limerick IT delivered a dominant second-half performance as they accounted for DIT in their Fitzgibbon Cup Group D clash in Coolock.

A goal from Paul Killeen in the 11th minute handed the visitors a decisive edge initially before Michael Lee netted for DIT at the end of the first quarter.

The contest remained similarly tight with Killeen's point in the 29th minute ensuring a 1-6 to 1-5 interval lead for the Limerick college.

It proved far more straightforward for Limerick IT after the break as David Reidy struck eight points in total for the winners as DIT, who lost Kieran Bergin in injury time, proved too reliant on Jack Guiney for scores.
