Ronan Crowley stole the show in Manchester as his 20-point tally broke Cavan's hearts in the Lory Meagher Cup on Saturday.

The Bandon native was in unerring form at the Old Bedians Sports Centre in a tight contest.

Cavan led by 1-18 to 0-20 with just over five minutes left, but three unanswered points from Crowley and one from Thomas Duane got the hosts out of jail.

Lancashire led by 0-7 to 0-4 before Cuala clubman Colum Sheanon found the net for Cavan and they were on level terms (1-8 to 0-11) at the interval.

Diarmuid Cahill's converted free in the 54th minute served to edge the visitors into the lead (1-14 to 0-16) and Lancashire trailed by two points when they had Simon Wallace red-carded.

However, Crowley then stepped up to turn the tables and edge the hosts ahead.

At the death, Cahill rifled the sliotar low and hard from a 25-metre free, but his attempt at goal was batted out by a posse of Lancashire defenders.
