Cork's late surge blows Banner away
Cork qualified for a final slot against Limerick in the Munster SHL when they had a merited win over Clare at Sixmilebridge.
Cork 0-19 Clare 0-15
Kieran Kingston's men put in a fine second-half performance to take the spoils against a Clare side that had a number of players in Fitzgibbon Cup action 24 earlier.
Despite playing with a strong wind, Clare could only manage to go in at half-time just one point ahead, 0-9 to 0-8, with Cathal O'Connell in accurate form.
A resolute Cork managed the wind advantage much better as the game wore on. A Conor Lehane point 16 minutes in gave the visitors the lead (0-12 to 0-11) for the first time. Cork laid the foundation for victory when they hit five scores in a seven-minute period. With seven remaining, they led by 0-17 to 0-12. Bobby Duggan pulled one back for Clare but points by goalie Declan Dalton and sub Tim O'Mahony saw Cork safely home.
