Comer snatches victory
NUIG 2-14 IT Sligo 2-12
Damien Comer was the hero as his last-minute goal kept alive NUIG's hopes of making the final.
It looked like IT Sligo were going hold on for victory when substitute Sean Meehan pointed in injury-time, but then Comer stepped up.
Enda Tierney opened the scoring with an early goal but a brace of goals from Martin Rock put IT Sligo ahead, but the Galway students still led at the break, 1-9 to 2-4, thanks to three frees from Michael Daly.
Robbie Smyth impressed with four second-half points but the Sligo students finished the match with 14 men as Eamonn McGrath picked up second yellow card.
It looked like Meehan had won it for Sligo, but they had reckoned without Comer.
Elsewhere, GMIT conceded against Galway.
