Kilmoyley captured their 23rd Kerry senior hurling title, thus moving to within one of Ballyduff, when they put St Brendan's of Ardfert to the sword in ideal conditions at Abbeydorney yesterday.
In the opening half, Kilmoyley completely outplayed St Brendan's, while John Meyler's men were ruthless.
Kerry senior star Daniel Collins tormented their rivals, finishing with a 2-10 haul, with substitute Micheal Regan, getting Kilmoyley's other goal.
St Brendan's were never at the races and maybe the fact that they have never beaten Kilmoyley in the championship had something to do with their lethargic display.
John Egan was their only attacker to threaten and when he received a second yellow in the 45th minute, it was game over.
Kilmoyley led 1-10 to 0-6 at the interval. St Brendan's rallied briefly after half-time, with three early Egan points, but their world fell apart when Kilmoyley veteran Regan finished into the net in the 40th minute.
Kilmoyley finished stronger, with a late Collins goal, and Jerry Wallace received a straight red as St Brendan's misery was complete, although Darren Wallace did get a consolation goal.
