Clare 'hopeful' boss Davy Fitzgerald will be back on the sidelines after hospital tests
Clare hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald may miss his team's All-Ireland hurling quarter-final against Galway this Sunday after being admitted to hospital.
Independent.ie understands that Fitzgerald was transferred to a hospital in Dublin this morning following an overnight stay in a clinic in Galway.
The Clare manager will undergo tests today, but the county's management team are hopeful that he will be back on the sidelines when the Banner take on the Tribesmen in Thurles this Sunday afternoon.
Fitzgerald previously underwent heart surgery in 2009 while he was the Waterford manager.
The Clare boss led his county to All-Ireland glory in 2013 after winning the championship twice as a player.
Clare are due to play their quarter-final against Galway at 2pm in this Sunday.
