Eoin Chawke fired Robert Emmetts to consecutive county championships at Greenford yesterday as they edged out St Gabriels for the second year in a row.
The defending champions got off to a flier when Daryl Roberts reacted quickest to Padge Buckley's free and fired into the roof of the net.
Gabriels responded with five of the next six scores, and their hopes were further boosted by the sending off of Bill Walsh for an off-the-ball incident.
However, Emmetts rallied and Chawke grabbed their second goal when he pounced on a loose ball and found the bottom corner.
Two late frees from Michael Ivors left St Gabriels trailing 2-3 to 0-8 at the interval but they had Connellan red-carded just three minutes after the restart.
Emmetts hit four points to take control but Ian Makessey found the net in the first minute of injury time to make it a two-point game.
Chawke and Kieran Morrisey responded with points to close out the game.
