A late goal from top scorer Damien Casey clinched a vital victory for Tyrone in this refixture at Garvaghey.
All the drama of this tie was reserved for the closing stages. Donegal looked to be heading towards the win when Stephen Gillespie fired home a goal to give them the initiative before the Red Hands fought back and Casey delivered his last-gasp strike.
A total of five players were sent off in a scrappy encounter which reflected the intensity of the rivalry between the two counties.
