Carvill on fire for Orchard men
Armagh 0-23 Louth 2-9
Armagh turned the corner after a string of recent bad results by beating a gutsy Louth side at the Athletic Grounds.
Gavin Kerrigan's 32nd-minute goal ensured the visitors enjoyed half-time parity at 1-6 to 0-9, with David Carvill whipping over three of the 11 points he was to score for the Orchard County by that stage.
Michael Ryan thrust Louth into a 2-6 to 0-9 advantage with another goal on the resumption, but the accurate Carvill and the busy Conor Corvan piled on the points to take Armagh clear.
Boss Sylvester McConnell, though, was more relieved than delighted at the finish: "The important thing is we have players who have now come back from injuries, while others are gaining experience," he said.
