KILKENNY have made three changes for Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final replay against Tipperary - two in their half-back line - but there is still no room in their starters for Henry Shefflin.

Brian Cody has made a particularly big call in dropping veteran centre-back Brian Hogan, who is replaced by Rower-Inistioge's Kieran Joyce, while Padraig Walsh, as expected, comes in at wing-back in place of Joey Holden.

Joyce's only Championship start this summer was in the drawn Leinster semi-final and he has not even come off the bench since.

It was expected that Walter Walsh might lose his place in attack and U-21 John Power has replaced him. Power, from Carrickshock, started the Leinster final but was replaced and only came on in the dying minutes of the drawn game.

Aidan Fogarty replaced Walter Walsh after 48 minutes the last day but Power has reportedly been going well in training.

Tipperary have made no changes, which means that Eamon O'Shea has held the versatile and experienced defender Michael Cahill in reserve, even though he did well when he came in for Gearoid Ryan the last day.

KILKENNY (SH v Tipperary) - E Murphy; P Murphy, JJ Delaney, J Tyrrell; P Walsh, K Joyce, K Buckley; R Hogan, C Fogarty; M Fennelly, C Fennelly, E Larkin; R Power, TJ Reid, J Power.

TIPPERARY - D Gleeson; C Barrett, P Maher, P Stapleton; B Maher, J Barry, K Bergin; S McGrath J Woodlock; G Ryan, P Maher, J O'Dwyer; N McGrath, S Callanan, L Corbett.
