It looked like the Cats' three in-a-row bid had ended last Sunday with the Deise holding a three point lead as the game entered injury time, but Walter Walsh buried the ball in the net to level the match.

The two sides then swapped last gasp points to set up this weekend's rematch in Semple Stadium in Thurles. It had been speculated that legendary forward Eoin Larkin may be played from the start this weekend but Cody has opted to keep the James Stephens forward in reserve.

Shane Prendergast will captain the side from corner back.

The game will throw-in at 6.45pm.

Kilkenny: Eoin Murphy, Paul Murphy, Joey Holden, Shane Prendergast (c),Padraig Walsh, Kieran Joyce, Cillian Buckley, Conor Fogarty, Michael Fennelly, Walter Walsh, TJ Reid, John Power, Jonjo Farrell, Colin Fennelly, Richie Hogan.
