Banner hurlers set sights on football captain Gary Brennan

CLARE football captain Gary Brennan has emerged as a target for Davy Fitzgerald's hurlers.
Brennan is a dual player with Ballyea and has caught the eye with a series of powerful club hurling displays at full-forward.
And Banner hurling selector Louis Mulqueen says he would like to have Brennan involved with the squad. Mulqueen revealed how there are a number of players on the Clare football panel who "we need to start looking at." He singled out Brennan for particular praise, confirming: "I like that Brennan fella – he is a fairly good footballer too. I have seen him play hurling and I wouldn't mind having him on the Clare senior panel."
Meanwhile, Clare football boss Colm Collins has confirmed that he will be without the services of his sons Podge and Sean for Saturday's Munster SFC quarter-final replay against Waterford. Both players are members of Fitzgerald's hurling panel for Sunday's provincial semi-final clash with Cork.
Mulqueen believes that both codes can be juggled successfully – but only if the "balance" is correct.
