This keenly contested NHL Division 2A clash at Netwatch Cullen Park yesterday saw the sides share the spoils, a result which leaves both sides on three league points.

Antrim's Ciarán Clarke gave a man of the match performance, scoring a total of 1-12, 1-11 from frees, and was a serious source of trouble to the home defence all through.

Carlow were the better side in the opening half, scoring some great long range points from play and were deservedly 0-13 to 1-7 ahead at half-time.

It remained very much score for score in the second half until Antrim were awarded a 52nd minute free 30 metres from the home goal. Up stepped Clarke to drill the ball to the net, bringing the sides level at 2-11 to 0-17.

Carlow lost left half back Richard Coady to a straight red card on 63 minutes and right full back Dion Wall on a second yellow card in the final minutes when he hauled down Clarke who promptly put the sides level for the final time. Paul Coady top-scored for Carlow with 0-9, 0-7 from frees and one point from a 65.
