All Star Clare hurler set to take a year out from inter-county action on medical advice
Clare have been dealt a blow ahead of the 2017 championship with the news that All Star midfielder Conor Ryan is taking a year out of hurling on medical advice.
The news was announced on the Clare Hurling Supporters Club website last night.
Ryan, who won an All Star and an All-Ireland medal under Davy Fitzgerald in 2013, will join the backroom staff as a member of the analytics team for 2017.
In more positive news for joint-managers Donal Moloney and Gerry O'Connor, another 2013 All Star, David McInerney, has rejoined the panel.
The full back missed the majority of the 2016 campaign through injury.
