Walsh boosts Decies
Waterford gave their survival chances a real shot in the arm by overcoming Tipperary in Dungarvan.
With Barry Grogan looking dangerous in attack, the visitors had built up a three-point lead before Waterford finally got off the mark in the 17th minute through Brian Wall and, from then on, they dominated.
Their first goal arrived in the 23rd minute when a smart exchange of passes between Shane Briggs and Eamonn Walsh resulted in Walsh smashing the ball into the net.
Patrick Hurney scored Waterford's second goal in the 32nd minute to help them lead by 2-5 to 0-4 at the interval.
Tipp did improve after the break but could find no way past the Waterford defence, with Walsh superb at midfield.
