Video: Twitter in awe of Philly McMahon as he opens up about death of brother in brave Late Late interview
He divides opinion as a no-nonsense, robust Dublin defender, but Philly McMahon has claimed universal praise following his appearance on the Late Late Show last night.
McMahon is better known for his edgy side on the gaelic football field but the man behind the all-action Dublin two-time All Ireland winner is calm with plenty of classy and thoughtful attributes.
His name trended all night on Twitter and into Saturday after McMahon opened up about the death of his older brother, who was sucked into the drugs scene when he was growing up in Ballymun.

Watching Late Late an hour behind (I'm a loser). Philly McMahon is a class act. A real role model unlike some of our more-hyped sport stars.— Luke O'Riordan (@luke_oriordan) February 12, 2016
Philly McMahon on #latelate , inspirational chap & a great footballer, very few could do what he has done. Especially given his back story.— Eli Roche (@eliroche) February 12, 2016
