Video: Derry star has dig at Tiernan McCann after heavy hit left him needing 14 stitches
Saturday night's McKenna Cup decider was a feisty affair and the physicality was evident from the opening seconds of the contest.
Three sendings off, a brawl which saw Derry manager banished to the stands and extra time drama meant this final will be long remembered.
The physicality took it's toll in the opening seconds of the contest with Brendan Rogers sent sprawling to the floor by a hit from Tiernan McCann which led to the the Oak Leaf man needing hospitalisation and 14 stitches.
It meant a very premature end to Rogers' evening, which ended in disappointment as Tyrone battled back to win by 1-22 to 1-17 in extra-time and he took to Twitter to reassure Derry fans that he was okay.
He also had a dig at McCann who was caught up in the infamous 'Rufflegate' incident last season.
McCann went down theatrically after getting his hair ruffled by Monaghan's Darren Hughes in their All-Ireland quarter-final meeting, leading to the Farney man's dismissal.
The CCCC proposed an eight-week ban for McCann's action but the CHC ruled that it was out of order and McCann was free to play in the semi against Kerry.

Thanks for the messages folks. I'm fine, at least my hair wasn't ruined— Brendan Rogers (@BrendanRogers6) January 24, 2016
