Unstoppable Hearty fires Louth past dogged Offaly
LOUTH 0-12 OFFALY 1-7
SHARPSHOOTER Kevin Hearty turned in a brilliant individual display as Louth advanced at Darver on Saturday.
He notched nine points of his side's tally, including all seven second-half scores, in a fully merited win.
Offaly led for most of the way though and were ahead 1-6 to 0-8 with 10 minutes remaining.
However, the Wee County boys finished strongly and outscored their opponents four points to one in the closing stages.
The visitors led 1-4 to 0-5 at the break thanks to Michael Butler's 24th-minute goal but they were also guilty of poor finishing at times.
Dylan Buckley increased the lead within three minutes of the restart before Hearty levelled with the next three points. Buckley regained the lead for Offaly but they had surrendered the initiative at this stage to a much improved home side.
