Tubridy shines as Clare overcome lowly Longford to stay unbeaten
Clare preserved their unbeaten record in Division 4, after they put a poor Longford side to the sword at Pearse Park yesterday.
The Banner men never looked in any real trouble in this one-sided affair and led by 0-9 to 0-0 at half-time.
The visitors outclassed Glenn Ryan's charges in almost every position and had this game wrapped up at the end of the first half, with David Tubridy and Gary Brennan in fine form.
Harsh words must have been delivered in the Longford dressing-room at the break, because when they emerged, they produced their best spell and points from Francis McGee, Kevin Smyth and Ronan McGoldrick reduced the deficit back to six points.
The pace of the game slackened in the final third, as both managers opted to empty the bench.
