Limerick 4-12, Meath 4-3

At one stage in this game Meath trailed by a staggering 20 points as Ian Ryan (right) helped himself to 3-7. The Royals managed a late revival as they ran in four goals, but this defeat capped a miserable year for the county who had let a ten point lead against Wexford slip in their Leinster campaign.

2012 NFL Division 2

Louth 2-14, Meath 1-8

Both teams went into the game threatened by relegation, but with home advantage the Royals were expected to deliver a big display despite their poor form in the build-up. However, the Royals failed to show up and were 12 points down at the break in front of a disgruntled home support. There was a slight rally in the second half but it was too little too late as the Royals were condemned to the third tier of league football for 2013.

2015 Leinster SFC semi-final

Westmeath 3-19, Meath 2-18

The Royals were 10 points up at one stage and nine to the good well into the second half. However, they collapsed from there and managed just six points in the second period. Westmeath finished strong with a goal from John Heslin (above) to record a first Championship win over their neighbours.
