It was a dramatic ending, but the majority of the Ulster Final between Donegal and Tyrone flattered to deceive and outspoken pundit Joe Brolly has been quick to voice his disapproval.

Mickey Harte's Tyrone ran out two-point winners - 0-13 to 0-11 - after trailing for the majority of the match.

With gaelic football currently under the spotlight for over-cautious defending and lack of attacking flair, this encounter did little to address that narrative with Sunday Independent columnist Brolly taking to Twitter to profess: "Surprisingly, Tyrone are trying to beat the masters of shit football by playing shit football."

Brolly did reserve some more positive analysis for Tyrone's Sean Cavanagh.

"Sean Cavanagh with an equaliser that is out of this world. what a player.

"Those second half points from play by Sean Canavagh, especially the last two, were of the highest order in every way. And when needed most.

"And another thing. He never gets injured. Amazing."
