The 1/25 favourites were at their ease before a crowd of 2,217 and all of their scores arrived from open play. Eleven clubs from the Kingdom have claimed provincial silver since the inception of the competition in 2003.

Danny Cahalane and Teddy Doyle kicked three points each as Templenoe marched 0-12 to 0-1 clear at halfway. Five of their six forwards were on target. Clare senior Cathal O'Connor notched Coolmeen's solitary score. O'Connor cut through nine seconds into the second half to send over the best point of the hour.

But the Banner men proved no match for their slick opponents. Cahalane drove a rocket to the far corner on 34 minutes. Nine different players obliged for the runaway winners. Sub Pat Spillane added two late singles before Josh Holland completed the rout with an injury-time goal.
