St Ledger blow for Carlow

Daniel St Ledger will miss Carlow's league matches with Roscommon and Clare after the Central Hearings Committee upheld the proposed four-week ban he picked up in the clash with Wicklow, writes Donnchadh Boyle.

In a further blow for Carlow boss Luke Dempsey, it was confirmed that Brendan Murphy joins St Ledger on the sidelines -- the International Rules star damaged ankle ligaments that will keep him out for up to six weeks.

To rub salt into the wound, Wicklow's John McGrath, who was dismissed in the same match as St Ledger, had his infraction downgraded by the same committee, resulting in no suspension for the forward.

St Ledger can appeal to the Central Appeals Committee (CAC).
